A French clinical case in English. Um caso clínico francês, em inglês.

Homosum
blockquote
HOMO SUM, ET HUMANI NIHIL A ME ALIENUM PUTO   (Terence)
As a biologist and osteopath, I offer balance in postural field to highlight deficiencies and overload caused by lifestyle (body and mind wrong habits, bad diet, medication,…)
With homeopathy I run a deep investigation in personality and history to allow the body and spirit to function optimally in all their spectrum. In complex situations (and they are all!), a comprehensive care (homeopathy, osteopathy, kinesiology, psychgenealogie, naturopathy) will be proposed to optimize the results.
My clientele is both children and adults, from birth until the last moments of life, also offering accompaniments to each transitions step.
Currently, I continue my research in homeopathy oriented by  contemporary homeopaths work training and by deepening teaching transmitted by the fundamental homeopaths who have left us an immense wealth.
The results that I witness daily leave me no doubt about the power of well-placed homeopathic remedies in untangling inevitably complex cases, especially with children suffering from autism disorders sphere.
My action is simply to initiate a process that enables the body to regulate itself, and throughout this process many symptoms will disappear. In a way the symptoms in the first place were simply the product of a complex blockage existing in the mind/body matrix. While this may appear to be just semantics, I stress that is very important to keep in mind this distinction.
Today I mix my skills and my 17 years experience for to improve your health. I am forever striving to provide the utmost of professional and exclusive care to every client.

The little Theo, a secondary encopresis cases treated with Nautilus Pompilius «the doodles as a tool».

7 May 2010

530730_526164380749556_948536038_nThe young Theo, 10 years old comes to consult for a symptom of secondary encopresis, on a background of respiratory allergies supposed to involve acari.
Constipation is described as ‘chronic’ without medical treatment, except of course during the ‘accidents’ that lead to consult.
This child is the eldest, his brother by two years his junior is in full conditions, lovely, shining instead of Theo in conversations and games. Their mother is recently separated from their father (for barely a year), and remodeled the new apartment with one bedroom for each boy.
As often the child arrives with his mother, wondering a little what will take on during the interview.

He is however plaintiff, because fear of soiling himself at bedtime prevents him to accept buddies invitations for example.
It is classical in this kind of situation, the shame is a major obstacle to its ‘social’ realization.
After the presentation of the situation, I oriented the interview towards the conditions of birth.
How was the birth?
“that lasted 5 hours, Theo did not come out and is stuck at the level of the rib cage, I was so scared of losing him, that he cannot survive and breathe”
Theo is finally born a little cyanotic, but ultimately without major sequelae, however I remember this episode of respiratory distress crossing the cervix.
Childhood diseases and mandatory vaccinations then have done their work without having to deplore whether immune or functional deficiencies.
Theo is attentive, very awake with unconcealed curiosity to know when it will be on stage.
When started the first involuntary stools?
“Just after the departure of their father, and always in the same conditions. When Theo leaves his room to come into the living room, there is a certain eagerness, he is playing with his brother or alone, it’s at this point, that he do describes the arrival of the disaster “
I speak directly to the child while asking him to clarify his feelings at that time, and especially to see if there are other times when it has this kind of «poo accident».
Do you agree with that described your mom? Was that happened to you in other circumstances?
” Well, not at the beginning, but now when I have a bad grade in school, or when I’m bothered by peers, then this happens more easily and more often,  but I always feel that is when I pass the door of my room “
How it prevents you to go to sleep at buddies then, it has happened on these occasions?
” Now I’m afraid that it happens at their home too, and I’d be too ashamed, I would not know how to wash and hide it all “
Has it already happened?
“no…”
This behavior seems to be confined to the only boundaries of the small territory of the child, so I lead the conversation towards a description of his room.
The verbal description bringing no element that I can analyze as a determinant, nor in the “gestures”, the words, or the elements described, I propose the child to draw me a map of his room.
The plan is a little small, the child is slightly myopic, like his mother. A detail nevertheless attracted my attention;
the positioning of the door on the sketch.
I then book me a small staging with the child.
I drive it near the door to my office and ask him out and enter in two possible configurations of moving; asking to cross the door, pushing or passing the threshold by pulling the door towards him.
Of course I asked him to select the version which is identical with his own bedroom door. When he identified the solution in accordance with its usual home, I ask him to reflect and make me another drawing to represent the sensation he feels at the crossing of the threshold…
On the initial doodle of the child there is no arrows, however, the door is positioned.
After asking to place himself somewhere (the circle with the cross), he describes me spontaneously issues and ways to go out of the space where it is placed, by drawing arrows.
The description of the sensations is punctuated by sighs, and the notion of confinement and panic in seeking the outcome is clear (see respiratory allergies, allergy to dust or acari that sit in the space of security become “stifling”).
My consultation continues then with a presentation to the mother and the child about the values that are usually bring by the father.
After this explanation, which allows the mother and the child to be aware of the elements that could be missing in their lives of children between 0 and 7 years, I offers a synthetic summary schema extracted from my Lego Anatomy courses.
This schema which serves me as visual, is an allegory that I created a few years ago. It is probably directly from my past of biologist.
The idea that the individual share in his adult life with a more or less breakthrough pattern (the Danaides vase), is quite clear. The difficulty it may then have to fill in and especially ‘capitalize’ love or values is generally well understood, proposing an explaination to  behavior disorders as an adult.
valeurs du pèreThen directed me to Theo, I asked him to make me a list of the values listed in the diagram, and mention those it considers to have received from his father. Spontaneously, it offers me the drawing below (figure 3). This child understands the concepts that belong to him now, as his family name given by his father for example, but also those with whom he is in trouble. It may be noted that only the box ‘ name or recognition “is filled with the sign «valid ✔», while the boxes that represent the values that the child imagine missing are represented by a «cross ✗».
With more accuracy, It can even analyze the strength of the line according to the checkboxes.
The right part of the drawing came spontaneously, free interpretation of the image with the test tube (everybody has recognized a test tube!).
It is the latter, and especially his interpretation that will make the link between the first doodles, and allow me to definitively choose the remedy.
Can you talk to me a little bit of this little guy on the right side of your drawing?
«and it is me, of course!
I’m in your tube, I can’t get out, then I use a tool to drill glass and be able to get out in the open air, as burglars…»

Let’s talk about homeopathy now.
Analysis:
Fig1And after the first doodles, and in particular that of figure 1, I direct my thinking, searching in the mineral world (structured design, symmetry elements, precision in details). Review figure 2, and especially the design of synthesis of figure 3, I’m leaving on a mineral component of an animal, or an animal whose Anatomy is made of mineral features.Fig 2
Figure 2 already makes me think of an ammonite, or a marine animal fossil, a shell of shellfish for example.
“In zoology, the test is a mineral made of limestone and silica, chitinous or composite, which has as its function to serve as protection for certain animals, such as diatoms, sea urchins and mollusks.
In sea urchins, this envelope keeps the name of ‘test’: usually said “a sea urchin test”. In diatoms, he took the name of frustule. And in molluscs, it comes to the shell.
The test term comes from the latin “testa” which just means ‘hard shell ‘. This term has also formed the word ‘head’ in the meaning of skull.” Have you noticed the perfect correspondence between the head of the child and the opening?
In the drawing of figure 3, the outdoor activities (with the error of spelling, and the H that could almost guide us on a gas, hydrogen, of course, but also, oxygen or even nitrogen…) remind me that the door is a major element in the circumstances of occurrence of the main symptom.
The opening to provide more space, more air, can immediately implement relationship with allergies or breathing difficulties or consequences (sighs).
Rubrics:
-Close the door to his friends, feeling of confinement, concern for his house. NAT-P.
-Wants a door always open towards the other, interpersonal communication that never fails, refuses the conventions of human language. AETH.
-Strike against the doors, wants access to something. Open them up without knowing what he is seeking. Crot-co.
-Wants the doors closed, be sure that the known world is full, do not see what lacks it. VIP.
Analysis (continued):
From the drawing of figure 4, things come alive a little more and after assumptions about silicea or diamond (cut glass), I remain on gas (oxygen), or an animal that expels gases through an opening, if possible circular or rounded shape.
Oxygenium is the first gas to which I think is spontaneously.
From Sholten «elements of life: the carbon series -Jan Scholten, Alex Leupen»:
Oxygenium is located in step 16, the 16th column of the periodic table. It is the phase of the loss, in part. Oxygenium feared losing everything (stool?), as in the carbon series, and this translates into fear of losing life. Oxygenium is related to the action of give and take, eat and be eaten. In order to use the food that is consumed, oxygen is required for combustion process, it provides energy in the system. On the other hand, to obtain this energy, others must die. Oxygenium embodies the danger of death and the need to eat to survive. His fear is of losing life, totally or partially. He fears becoming disabled, become poor with nothing but dirt and ruins to live. He feels pushed outside life, set aside, in the dirt. Oxygenium is intended for people who feel life, as beggars (miasma of leprosy – cf the apprehension of going to sleep at friends, affraid of beeing pointed or left out). They can also convey to others that they are accountable, making them guilty of having a good quality of life, unlike them. These patients have the sense to be used, and they use others in turn, as if life owed them something (unconscious accountability from his mother at birth).
Repertorisation of the clinical signs of constipation to his highest rank:
RECTUM / CONSTIPATION (see inactivity) / mechanically, the stool should be expelled: aloe, bry, calc, con, lyc, med, nat – m, flat, sanic, salt, sep, sil, sulph
It is sepia and the idea of molluscs which me appears as being to follow. The expulsion of liquid or gas to move (to cross a door), or go to an outdoor area, leads me to the cephalopods.

Nautilus pompilius

NautilusWikipedia: “the Chambered Nautilus are molluscs cephalopods with specific characteristics:
Their many tentacles (approximately 90) are not suckers. Their shell is developed and rolled forward, spiral-shaped. The Interior is partitioned in different boxes. The body of le nautile occupies the last Lodge, which is the largest. A siphon goes through the bulkheads. The lodges is not the animal contain a mixture of gas and liquid. These animals have 4 gills. They move projecting water through a funnel. They can also crawl when they are on solid ground.
By varying the proportion of gas/liquid in the lodges of the shell, Nautilus can sink or rise in the water.
These animals, close to the ammonites, little evolved 400 million years ago.”

Without any materia medica available, I refer to the only study I know of this remedy by R. Sankaran in « Survival – the Molluscs ».
The characteristics of the animal Kingdom are well confirmed:
the fact to feel or be really dominated (here by the younger brother), fighting for territory.
the invasion of the disorder around him that prompted him to flee (DD with Sepia and his impulses to put everything in order).
attacks behind pushes headlong rush forward.
With regard to shellfish:
isolation.
exist by itself (the stools are not the mark of our presence in a part of territory).
stop talking abruptly, for fear of revealing a secret or by shyness, hold (constipation).
introversion to leave the place (let his younger brother shine)
cut off: isolated, no longer have access to something, someone, somewhere (the gate).
keep, keep, refrain.

More specifically in Nautilus:
collapse.
from the bottom of the abyss (at the bottom of the tube).
stay afloat, the keel of the ship (no escape from the top).
bumping against (e.g. a wall).
Prescription: Nautilus pompilius 1 M
After having made my decision, out of curiosity I asked the young Theo what makes it think the figure 2 doodle…
“a fossil, you know, with small boxes, this animal which enlarges his house when it gets bigger!”

Follow-up:
Two months later: stool accidents are not reproduced, constipation is back in order and Theo will occasionally sleep in friends home.
Relationships with his younger brother are more serene and Theo is expressed more easily, taking its place of elder.
He asked to change his room planning and now feels safe in the portion of the door. Allergic episodes appear to be much less frequent.
In the next year, I have reviewed only once this child who could speak more easily again, and that felt much better away from home. The initial symptoms have completely disappeared. The relationship with his father had become more simple and trust between father and son restored. The mother came then look for her, and updating few episodes of confinement when she was a child herself. She got good results on its behavior, including with its children, with a single dose of sepia.
